Miscarriage = Life in Prison???

I was on FaceBook yesterday & noticed a news article someone had posted. Apparently a 15 year old girl can face life in prision for a MISCARRIAGE. Yes, a miscarriage. But get this. She had a drug problem, but that doesn't have any ties with the miscarriage. "When prosecutors discovered that she had a cocaine habit – though there is no evidence that drug abuse had anything to do with the baby's death – they charged her with the "depraved-heart murder" of her child, which carries a mandatory life sentence." I can see if she were using drugs and and it caused the misscarriage, but it didn't. The system is just sooo messed up these days. You can read the full article here. I don't know about the other stories listed in the article, but this girl does not deserve jail time for this.
